A barbarian King will also be a huge help, too. This attack strategy works well as long as you have your troops properly upgraded. For example, if you have a town hall 7, you will want to have all your troops upgraded to level 4 unless you are attacking a town hall level 6 or below. Also watch out for spring traps - a single spring trap can take out up to 3 giants!

Find a base that looks relatively easy to at least 2-star - not much maxed out for its town hall level and one that has at least 100,000 elixir along with (for the most part) a good amount of gold. Emphasis is put on elixir to offset the cost of training all of the troops.
Deploy a couple of barbarians just to check for traps.
Deploy the giants in two or three swarms in the general area nearest to the resource you're seeking (gold or elixir or dark elixir).
Behind the giants deploy the wizards with spaces of 2-4 tiles between each wizard.
Deploy the barbarians in a similar manner to the wizards except closer together. Keep your finger on the screen and just slide it back and forth along the edge of the base.
If there are any corner buildings, deploy archers there.
Deploy the rest of the archers in the same manner as the barbarians in a semi-circle around the half of the base the giants are destroying. Watch out for mortars and wizard towers!
If you have one, deploy a barbarian king and/or archer queen.

Resource raiding with goblins can be frustrating due to the goblin's low health. Here, if this is executed correctly, many resources can be gained, and due to the low training time, gained frequently. This will also almost always grant at least a 1-star!
