What matters in a Clan War Match?
I think this should be posted wide and often. There are too many bloggers perpetuating the myths of clan matching in wars - such as Trophies being important. They do not count one bit. Myths such as these can lead to the gameplay being distorted, so we must clear up the myths for all our common good.
Why false myths are bad
For example, you see clans demanding members lose trophies in the vain hope of getting an easier opponent in war. If thousands of clans do that there might be hundreds-of-thousands of high-level players camped at lower trophies for no reason. This leads to distortion of the game play for millions of other players who are swamped by high level players squatting in their league for a reason based on a myth. It's also limiting the potential of those high-level members to receive larger multiplayer attack bonuses from higher leagues they would prefer to be in.
The point is, don't modify your behviour in multiplayer games in useless ways in order to be more successfuli Clan War! At least as far as doing so relies on the myth that Trophies influence who is matched to you!

How are clans matched for a clan war?
Clan wars matchmaking matches clans based on the strength of their members. Unlike multiplayer battles, trophies have no influence in determining your clan wars opponent. After an opposing clan is found, the war immediately starts. There’s no “nexting” in clan wars matchmaking.
How is strength calculated in clan wars?

The only way a member’s strength can be changed is if they upgrade their troops, defenses, spells, etc.
